* THIRSTER ALEX TEXTOR INAUGURATES TRAVEL BLOG
Tuesday, January 1, 2008 Dear Thirsters: Happy New Year! I turn the annual page with news of my son, travel writer ALEX ROBERTSON TEXTOR, a Thirster based in New York. Alex has been addicted to travel since he first lived in Europe as a child. He recently started an unaffiliated travel blog called SPENDTHRIFT SHOESTRING, which I enthusiastically commend to you. The blog draws on Alex's extensive traveling experience as well as his years of editing and writing for a range of print and online publications – including, last year, the New York Times Travel Section. After serving as a contributing editor at Jaunted.com, a leading US travel blog, and then working as founding editor of the EuroCheapo Blog, he decided that it was time for him to start a blog oriented around his own interests as a traveler, which prioritize budget-friendly travel and take account of a broad spectrum of cultural and economic subjects in addition to conventional travel writing topics. Alex tells me that he's planning to update the blog several times each week. For those interested in his travel writing archive, also note the links to his published articles listed on the blog. Check out Spendthrift Shoestring here: http://alexrobertsontextor.typepad.com. Thanks, Alex! Best, Bob |
